Sun Into Taurus 2014 Edition

Hello Beautiful Ones,

Happy Birthday Taurus!  If it seems like the newsletter is out just a tad earlier than usual this month, it is.  The Sun and Mercury are still in Aries as I write.  Coincidence?  Actually, the energies of the Grand Cardinal Cross are unfolding, so I wanted to make sure that you have all of the information and support you may need.  These energies can feel quite intense as we move through them, and this month's astrology article has all of the critical dates, aspects and explanations.  Fortunately we are entering the Taurus cycle.  This fixed earth sign strengthens our ability to stay grounded, centered and calm, no matter what.  The other reason for an early edition is that today (when the newsletter is coming out) I'm talking with my friend and colleague Kristy Ayala about this very important cycle.  So I wanted to give all of you the opportunity to tune in live, at 11 A.M. PST, to get the news.  If you cannot listen during the live broadcast, don't worry.  You can listen at your leisure as the show is always on demand and available, for free, at your convenience.

Subscriber Special
For further support during the Cross, I'm running the "Your 2014" special for a second time.  Popular during the new year when we experienced the initial waves of the Cross, this special combines a personal reading with a 13-month transit report customized to your birth details.  Transit reports match your specific birth data with current conditions to let you know how the planets are interacting with your chart.   Not only will you learn how the Cross will impact you, but what's ahead through May of 2015.  As an added bonus, a complimentary copy of your natal chart will be included with all orders.  This special will expire on April 30th.  You can use the contact form on my site or reply to this email to schedule your reading and report.
I Can Do It - Denver
In other news, I had the opportunity to attend Denver's I Can Do It event last month.  There I enjoyed presentations by some of the hottest new talent in the mind, body and spirit field, like Panache Desai and Radleigh Valentine I also had the privilege of learning from some of the industry's most gifted and established leaders, like Dr. Wayne Dyer, Doreen Virtue, and Joan Borysenko.  One of my favorite moments was when I met "Mr. Lovability",  Robert Holden.  He's been a guest on the Hay House Book Club and we're both big Monty Python fans.  So, the first person who can correctly name the Monty Python song I sang to Robert to make him laugh in this photo gets a free 15-minute reading.  Just hit reply to send your answer.  In all, it was wonderful event, filled with wisdom, cutting-edge information and Light.  For those who could not attend, I'll be sharing some highlights from the lecturers during the next couple of editions of this newsletter.  Heartfelt thanks Diane, Donna, Darcy, Maryann and everyone at Hay House who took such good care of me and my guests, and thanks to Lisa for taking the pic.  It was a privilege and a pleasure to be in attendance.

Sun Into Taurus 2014: On Solid Ground

Some of 2014's biggest fireworks are officially underway,  But as we enter the heart of the Grand Cardinal Cross, the Cosmos is also serving up some of the year's most stable and abiding energy.  Counteracting the chaos of the Cross are celestial reserves of peace, resolve and security, and sensuous, resourceful Taurus has arrived to guide us to them.  The Sun enters the fixed earth sign of Taurus at 9:56 P.M. MST on April 19th under a Cardinal Capricorn moon.  On the 20th expansive Jupiter squares erratic Uranus and opposes powerful Pluto.  On the 21st the fifth of seven seismic Pluto Uranus square occurs.  On the 22nd contentious Mars squares Jupiter and on the 23rd it opposes Uranus and squares Pluto.  Are you already feeling the friction?  By the weekend of the 26th the moon moves into instigating Aries to set off a few more days of Cardinal clashes, as it prepares for a solar eclipse on the 29th.  How these energies will play out personally and globally is unique to each set of circumstances.  For some it will be the time when long-standing grievances escalate into all out war.  For others, aspects like Uranus in spontaneous Aries will bring unexpected news and one-of-a-kind opportunities.  For most, it is a significant step forward.  Paradoxically, applying these initiating forces requires a look back.

Many of the planetary players activated during the Cross began stirring things up back in late December of 2013.  Four months into the new year, we're being reminded to revisit the resolutions and intentions we set for 2014 and beyond.  Now we can make necessary revisions to them and further them along.  If this sounds like the language of those pesky Mercury retrogrades, it is.  But the winged one isn't the culprit here.  The planets in review mode during the cycle ahead are heavenly heavyweights Mars, Saturn and Pluto, and they are some of astrology's strongest and shadowiest figures.  The collective resonance of this group will help, or force, us to slow down, something the Bull of Taurus appreciates.  So on one hand we have the provocative Cross prodding us into action, and on the other, the malefics and Pluto imposing measure.  Then again, as I cautioned back in December, this 7-month retrogradation period is one of 2014's hallmarks.

The key to navigating these sometimes conflicting currents of action and reservation lies in the water signs, and in Pisces in particular.  From the sign of intuition and integration, Neptune, Chiron and Venus (until May 2nd when it enters Aries) will inform us.  The call of our inner voice will be present and unmistakable throughout the Taurus cycle.  The Pisces trio will make harmonious connections with Saturn and Jupiter, also in water signs, giving gut feelings added gusto.  In general the planets in water signs will form supportive aspects with those in earth signs.  For example, Neptune and Chiron will sextile the Sun, Moon and Mercury while while they journey through rooted Taurus, and Jupiter in Cancer will sextile the new moon of the 29th, Mercury on the 30th and the Sun on May 6th.  Further, the planets in earth signs, Pluto, the Sun, Moon and Mercury (until May 7th) will bring their practicality and determination to the table.  Some keep dates for these earth sign meet ups include the 25th when Mercury and the Sun are conjunct, the 29th when Mercury trines Pluto under the new Taurus moon, and May 3rd when the Sun trines Pluto.  These are 5-star grounding meditation days and occasions when holding on to what we truly value is important.

But standing our ground won't be easy in the days ahead.  In addition to the ground-breaking impulses coming from the Cardinal Cross, some fixed sign tensions are also on the horizon.  Like their name implies, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius hold the energies of their respective elements of earth, fire, water and air.  Restrictive, retrograde Saturn in Scorpio will oppose Mercury, the new Moon and the Sun in Taurus.  And the lunar transits through Aquarius and Leo will form squares to Taurus and Scorpio.  These fixed sign frictions can complement the Cardinal Cross drive to get issues out in the open and to handle them in new, healthy ways.  The insightful and grounding alignments of the planets in water and earth signs will play a huge role in determining how well we manage the provocative energies we are set to walk through.  Astrology's Bull, strong and centered, now stands in our midst.  He teaches us to slow down and to move through the world firmly, with placidity and peace.

Anita Moorjani & A Flashlight

I Can Do It opened with a stellar two-and-a-half hour presentation by Dr. Wayne Dyer on a Friday evening, and it concluded with an authentic and heart-centered talk on love by Robert Holden on Sunday evening.  In between 5,000 attendees and I soaked up tons of 411 for hours on end.  So many lectures in such a short time frame led to a bit of brain mush for me. That having been said, this is one of the teachings I remember well.

Anita Moorjani is the woman who was considered to be clinically dead from complications from cancer, who survived.  Her story is the subject of her best-selling book "Dying To Be Me" and it is a powerful message about how precious, fragile and connected life is. This is one of the ideas she shared with us.

She said that life is analogous to a huge warehouse, one that we cannot see the beginning or end of, and that what we focus on can be a like the beam of a flashlight.  Think about all of the details of your life, what you wore on the 47th day of second grade or what you had for dinner on June 8, 1995.  Your conscious mind of course doesn't retain all of that.  But like items filling the shelves of a great warehouse, these details are all part of you.  If we turned off the overhead lights of this warehouse and had only a flashlight to guide us, we would only be able to see as much as the light beam made visible.  We really wouldn't be able to take it all in, much like we can't in our normal waking life.  Her point was that what we chose to focus that flashlight on is important.  Are we pointing the flashlight backwards and looking at the same items over and over again?  Are we focusing it on a set of worries, habitually filling day after day with them?  Moorjani was one of many speakers who explained how our thoughts link to emotions which create chemical reactions on our bodies.  This is a power we often use to our detriment, replaying painful or troubling experiences which produce the same destructive chemical flooding.  Eventually these distressing scenarios take their toll on our organs, immune system and natural healing abilities.

As most of you know, I'm a spiritual pragmatist.  For better or worse, I need to understand the real world application of any spiritual doctrine for it to be of any use.  Four planets in Virgo, what can I say?  You might say that I'm all about the utility of service.  It's all well and fine to go on a retreat, to a monastery or to the mountain top and glean the wisdom of lofty teachings or ideas.  But if they don't work in daily life, especially when the shit hits the fan, they are of little value to me.  So, fittingly I put my flashlight out on a staircase, a literal spot that I pass several times a day.  It "re-minds" me of this beautiful woman and of her lovely and real message.  When I'm in a negative thought rut. it gently prompts me to take charge of what's running through my mind and to use its awesome power for the best.  When I'm feeling good, it amplifies my smile and Light.  If you need help training the monkey mind, I encourage you to find something that you see each and every day that connects you to your sense of the Divine.  For those of you near Vancouver, Austin, Baltimore, New York, and Pasadena, Anita will be part of I Can Do It events coming to town this year.  For those who cannot physically get to an event, Hay House offers a streaming ticket.  So, if you need some inspiration, fresh tools and perspectives or a spiritual recharge, I highly recommend attending one of these events.

Well, the Grand Cardinal Cross is upon us and its energies will effect each of us differently.  For me and several Lightworking friends there has been a resounding call to take extra care of our bodies.  Some of you may also be getting messages to detox, juice or otherwise clean up your diet.  Tranquil, enduring Taurus is the sign most associated with our five senses and physical being, so this is an excellent time for being good to your body and for connecting with the natural world.  I hope that your are guided into this new paradigm with love and ease.  And of course, thank you all, so very much, for subscribing, and a very warm welcome to you new subscribers!  We'll see you when the Twins come to town.

With love and gratitude,
Elizabeth
