| Sun Into Aquarius 2014 Edition

Welcome to the Age of Aquarius, The Sun enters futuristic, singular Aquarius at 7:51 P.M. PST on the 19th. During the cycle ahead fixed sign tensions will arise while a Jupiter Pluto opposition will put more pressure on the mounting Grand Cardinal Cross.
Simultaneously some air sign trines and favorable Uranus connections will beam brilliant flashes of insight. Venus will turn direct and Mercury will move into intuitive Pisces before going retrograde on February 6th. To call the astrological weather on hand a mixed bag is an understatement. But if there is one sign that is perfectly suited for the quirky cosmological mixture ahead, it is inventive, original Aquarius. As I write this newsletter on
January 10th, data on unemployment in the United States has just been released. Those numbers and what we make of them are a perfect case in point for a discussion on Aquarius and 2014's air water Mercury retrogrades. The numbers are numbers, no more and no less. It's the story that we each make up about them that makes all the difference. Sadly, while reviewing several 2014 forecasts, I came across a number of astrologers and New Age teachers portending unending calamity,
crisis and chaos and spreading paranoia. With so much riding as we head into the Grand Cardinal Cross of late April, this Aquarius cycle is ideal for taking an inventory of our thoughts and communications. Collectively our thoughts and conversations generate memes which in turn become tipping points. We can be part of the fear mongering or part of the Divine, loving and guiding Light, our true essence. Aquarius gives voice to problem-solving and new, innovative
possibilities. The upcoming Mercurial dance between air and water will repeat throughout 2014. It invites us to fact check and to gut check, and its backwards motion will simply give us the chance to try new things and to fine-tune our endeavors. So, I say never mind the naysayers; we officially have cosmic permission to experiment and enjoy. This month I was graced with two opportunities to talk about the forecast in detail. First I
caught up with Kristy Ayala on " Kristy's Connection To The Soul" to talk about the immediate Sun cycle before us. Then I visited with Kristina Walsh on her show " Surfing The Psychic Waves" to share more about 2014's broader

Sun Into Aquarius 2014 - Experiments In Joy

Viewing life through Aquarian lenses means we detach from our daily routines long enough to take in a broader perspective so
that we may see new worlds of possibility. Rebellious Aquarius doesn't just break the mold, it writes the new template. The unconventional air sign also urges us to be bold, ground-breaking and above all else, original. On January 29th the Sun will sextile game-changing Uranus and on February 15th it will be conjunct thinking Mercury. Mercury will trine Mars, in fellow air sign Libra, twice, on January 24th and February 16th. These connections, and the Aries moon
hookup with Aquarius's ruling planet Uranus on February 3rd, celebrate our unique gifts and urge us to apply our talents in revolutionary ways. However these aspects show up in our lives, Aquarian vision will prove helpful, if not essential.
Following the new Aquarius moon of January 30th, Venus will turn direct in Capricorn on the 31st, the day our next Cardinal clash will be exact. On the 31st unyielding Pluto in financial Capricorn will directly oppose expansive Jupiter in domestic Cancer. The tension between these powerful and slower moving planets will be felt for several days ahead of and after the showdown. We will need to balance their competing agendas. Additionally some fixed sign flare ups will
bring other forms of intransigence to a head. Austere Saturn will be at the center of these confrontations. The planet of limitations squares Mercury on January 25 under a Scorpio moon, the Sun on February 11th and the full Leo moon on Valentine's Day.
Offering us some strategies for navigating the alternating currents of this Aquarius cycle will be nimble Mercury. Its retrograde will be
from February 6th through 28th. By traveling through progressive Aquarius and holistic Pisces and back, the winged one will be setting the trend for 2014, when all three of its retrogrades will traverse the air and water elements. This is where we learn to blend science and spirituality, facts and feelings, and intelligence and emotion. In closing notes, my final semester of music school is now underway, so the next two editions
